Sam and Gem’s wedding was very special to me. Not only are they a lovely couple but I have also known Sam for around 20 years! So to be asked to capture their wedding day was not only an honor but it was also so much fun because it was attended by all of my school friends! As well as getting to capture their day and after all the photos had been taken I got to put the cameras away and party like it was 1999… 2019 (10 points if you’re old enough to get that reference). The other great thing about this venue was that, because we were all staying at the Astor Wing, the Bride and Groom were getting ready at the same place which means I got to capture images of both of them getting ready. This is a bit of a rarity as usually, I am with the bride for pre-ceremony images! I was really amazing to spend some time with Sam and Carey (best man & another very close friend of mine) while they got ready for the ceremony.
The day was a mixture of beautiful blue skies, drizzle, rainbows and more but this didn’t dampen the spirits of the attendees. From the beautiful Astor Wing where both bride and groom got ready to the Ceilidh band in the evening, we had a beautiful day full of laughter and fun all against the backdrop of Hever Castle!
Hever Castle is located in Kent and was the home to Anne Boleyn, the second queen consort of King Henry VIII of England, where she lived in her early years. If you are interested in getting married at Hever Castle you can make an enquiry through their website:
